執行李、割韭菜、補牆與其他項目 Packing List, Garlic Chives, Wall Mending and Other Projects
今期講講我去旅行執行李用的列表、比較割韭菜前後的粗度，節瓜開花、製作粟米豆腐羹、拍青瓜、一個儲存優惠卡的做法，以及分享一個補牆工程的成果。
In this post, I share the idea of a packing checklist, compare the thickness of my Garlic Chive plants before and after cutting, share a photo of the flower buds on my Hairy Gourd plant, talk about the making of Corn and Tofu Soup and Smashed Cucumber, discuss how I use the screenshots of benefit cards on my phone, and talk about a wall repair project I did.
1. 行李一覽表 Packing Checklist
比起以前住在香港，在英國多了一種旅遊方式──國內自駕遊。本週去了一個短遊，帶了貓咪一起去。為此我弄了一個新的「行李一覽表」予這種旅行方式，收拾行李時候按着這個表來做，簡單又快捷。
Having moved from Hong Kong to the UK, a new way of traveling emerged – driving trips across different parts of the UK. This week, we went on a short trip and brought our cat with us. I prepared a new packing checklist specifically for this type of travel. Following the list makes packing much simpler and quicker.
給貓咪的物品好齊全，食玩瞓屙樣樣齊！Our cat has got everything she needs in the trip – food, toys, bed and even her litter box!
2. 越割越粗的韭菜 Garlic Chives: Thicker with Each Cut
一直都知道韭菜會越割越粗，但親眼看見時，仍然覺得很神奇！

I’ve always known that Garlic Chives grow thicker and thicker every time you cut them, but seeing it happen for real still makes me feel quite magical!

3. 節瓜開花了 Flower Buds on Hairy Gourd
節瓜苗長出花蕾了，有雌花有雄花！非常期待它結果的一天！
The Hairy Gourd plant have sprouted buds, with both female and male flowers! Looking forward to the day when they bear fruit!
4. 粟米豆腐羹 Corn and Tofu Soup
有時想喝湯但不想弄得太複雜，粟米豆腐羹是不錯的選擇，不用半小時就做好。
When you want to have soup but don’t want to make things too complicated, Corn and Tofu Soup is a good choice. It only takes less than half an hour to make.
5. 優惠卡照片Screenshot of Benefit Cards
時常在超市想出示手提電話中的優惠卡時，總是無法連線！心生一計，把優惠卡screen cap 成照片，就不用連線也用得到！我更把優惠卡的照片設置成「最愛」，方便找尋。
Whenever I wanted to show the discount card on my phone at the supermarket, I always have trouble connecting to the Internet! Then I came up with the idea of taking a screenshot of the discount card so I can use it without internet connection! Now I even set the photo of the discount cards as a favourite photo so I can access them easily.
6. 拍青瓜 Smashed Cucumber
探望老師，師母說她種植的青瓜收成太多，給了一些我帶走。我加上自己種的指天椒用來做拍青瓜。
We went to visit my teacher. They have an abundant harvest of cucumbers and gave us a few to take home. I made some Chinese style cucumber salad using my homegrown chilli.
7. 補牆的故事 A Tale of Wall Repair
友人知道我愛做木工，問我會製作什麼，我告訴對方一個「補牆的故事」，是我迄今最自豪的木工項目之一。
A friend, knowing that I love woodworking, asked me what I have made. I shared A Tale of Wall Repair with them – one of my proudest woodworking projects to date.
