Our bathrooms recently underwent extensive renovations. With both layout and appearance changed, I invested some thought into maintaining their coherence, functionality and aesthetic appeal. In this article, I’ll share three simple yet impactful DIY ideas that transformed my bathroom into a space that is both tidy and stylish.
浴墊變法Bath Mat Magic
我的首個難題是挑選合適的浴墊。浴室以花紋地磚為主要特色，令我最初以為用淨色浴墊才不會破壞設計，但結果強差人意，淨色浴墊令地磚的視覺效果蕩然無存！然後我嘗試用上圖案相似的浴墊，效果出奇地好！浴墊製造出視覺假象，與地磚無縫融合，使浴室保存了我原本想用地磚製造出的視覺風格。
My first challenge was selecting the right bath mat. Given the bathroom’s patterned floor tiles as the main feature, I initially thought a plain mat would preserve the design. However, the outcome was disappointing; the plain mat reduced the visual effect of the tiles. Experimenting with a patterned mat proved fruitful, creating a seamless illusion that blended harmoniously with the tile design, thus preserving the intended visual style.
趣緻門擋Quirky Door Stop
在浴室的新佈局中，必須採用門擋。我沒有選擇傳統的門擋，而是將一個錢罌重新利用，在裡面裝滿了石春，變成門擋。它不僅有實際用途，還為浴室增添了一抹可愛的色彩，每次進門都像看見貓咪向你打招呼！
The revamped bathroom layout called for a door stop. Instead of opting for a conventional door stop, I repurposed a piggie bank into a whimsical door stop by filling it with gravel. Not only does it serve its practical purpose, but also adds a delightful touch to the space, resembling a friendly feline greeting every visitor.
透明膠瓶 Transparent Bottles
要為浴室保持歸一的風格，通常要盡量減少雜亂的物品，並把必需品整齊地擺放。為了達至這目標，我用了一個簡單的方法來處理梘液、洗手液等物品，就是選用透明瓶子，並把其標籤撕掉。透明的瓶子很容易融入四週環境，並散發出一種精緻、高級的氛圍，使得浴室的美感立即有所提升。
Maintaining a unified aesthetic in the bathroom often involves minimising clutter and organising essentials neatly. To achieve this, I employed a simple method for managing my toiletries: choosing clear bottles and removing their labels. The transparent bottles naturally blended with surroundings, emitting a vibe of sophistication and elevating the bathroom’s overall ambience.
