旅行貓居必備 Travel Essentials for a Cat
作為貓奴，每次去旅遊都為要拋下心愛的貓咪而懊惱。幸好移民英國之後，多了一種旅遊方法：國內自駕遊，而我家貓咪適應能力高，可以帶着一起去旅行。於是我們收拾行裝——當然也包括她的行裝——前往英格蘭南部的海岸城鎮，享受一個期待已久的假期。
帶貓咪去度假，關鍵在於充份準備。我們確保帶備貓咪在旅途中所需的一切，以保證她感到舒適愉快。這包括食物、藥物、貓砂盆、抓爪柱、Feliway、玩具、零食，甚至連她最愛的貓草也帶着。我們還準備了一件帶有我們氣味的T恤，好使她在陌生的環境有一絲熟悉和安全的感覺。此外，我們也把家裏用來固定窗口位置、防止貓咪跑出街的窗戶安全鎖也帶上，好使在旅行住宿的AirBnB可安心打開窗戶，讓空氣流通。
第一天進入AirBnB時，貓咪既謹慎又好奇。但她很快便適應了新環境，因為有那些熟悉的物品陪伴。隨著每天過去，她更越來越放鬆，每天都在屋中四處逛，悠閒地曬太陽，在床上呼呼大睡，隨心所欲地享用她喜愛的食物。看著她如此滿足和自在，我們感到非常欣慰。能這樣帶著貓咪一起去旅行，實在太幸福了！
As a devoted cat owner, I always feel distressed about leaving my beloved cat behind whenever the family go on a trip. Fortunately, after moving to the UK, we have a new way to travel: domestic road trips. My cat adapts well to new environments, so we can bring her along on our adventures. We packed our bags – and hers – and headed to the southern shores of England for a much-needed holiday.
Bringing a cat along on vacation, preparation is key. We made sure to pack everything our cat would need to stay comfortable and happy during the trip: food, medicines, litter box, scratch post, Feliway, toys, treats, and even cat grass. We also brought a T-shirt with our scent on it to give her a sense security in an unfamiliar place. Additionally, we packed the window restrictors we use at home, so we can safely open the windows at our Airbnb to allow fresh air in.
Upon arriving at the AirBnb on the first day, our cat was curious but cautious. However, having her familiar items around, she pretty soon adjusted to the new environment. As the days passed, she became more and more relaxed, spending her days exploring the corners of the flat, lounging in sunny spots, napping on the bed, and nibbling on her favourite food as she liked. She seemed content and at ease, which was all we could have hoped for. Being able to travel with our cat like this is truly a joy!
We surely brought the cat’s feeder and water fountain, but we also packed her scratch post – not only to keep her entertained but also to prevent her from scratching up other people’s furniture.
We packed her litter box along with extra litter. Yes, our luggage was rather heavy!
I grew two pots of cat grass for the trip so our cat could enjoy them on vacation.
