辨認新屋的花草樹木 Identifying Plants in A New House

　　在英國剛買屋後，其中一個要處理的問題是：怎樣打理上手業主留下來的花草樹木？我問上手業主：「可以給我一個簡介，告訴我那些植物叫什麼名字嗎？我怕自己不會打理，會弄死它們。」對方笑說：「不用擔心！它們都是容易打理的植物。」我心想，你可不知道香港人對花草樹木的認識何其淺薄！然而結果大家都各自忙搬家，這件事不了了之。

　　接著我找到一個app，可以為植物拍照來找出它的名字。我先用一些確定名字的植物來測試，確定這個app挺準確的，然後就逐棵植物拍照，問它們「嗨！你係乜樹？」最後我做了個圖，方便日後參考。知道了花園的花草樹木叫什麼名字，要請google大神指點迷津就方便得多了！

　　When we first purchased our house in the UK, one of the issues I had to deal with was figuring out the care needed for the plants in the garden. I asked the previous owner of our house, “Could you give me a brief introduction and tell me the names of these plants? I’m afraid I won’t know how to look after them and might end up killing them.” She smiled and said, “Don’t worry! They are all low-maintenance plants.” I muttered to myself, you have no idea how little knowledge HongKongers hold about plants! However, we both got too busy with moving house eventually, and the matter was left unattended.

　　Later on, I found an app that could identify plants by taking photos of them. I tested it with some plants whose names I already knew, and it proved to be accurate. So, I started taking photos of each plant in our  garden and created a chart for easy reference. Knowing the names of the plants, I can then easily look up information about these plants on the Internet.
