Growing Garland Chrysanthemum
I sowed a handful of Garland Chrysanthemum in August last year and continued harvesting them until when they stopped growing in October due to the cold weather. As spring arrived this year, they sprouted back to life. In March and April, I continued to harvest them bit by bit. A friend told me that regularly harvesting them is the secret to growing robust Garland Chrysanthemum. In May, I stopped harvesting to let the plant bolt and flower, so that I can save some seeds for planting them again this autumn. The flowers they produce add a lot of colour to the garden!
In the past, my husband didn’t like Garland Chrysanthemum, but the freshly-picked leaves are so tender and delicious that they have changed his impression!
Every time I shared photos of Garland Chrysanthemum, the response I received would be “perfect for hot pot!” We don’t have hot pot often, but noodles with mixed fish balls and Garland Chrysanthemum do look like a mini hot pot!
