港式美食、蒜頭出芽、裝飾牆壁 Hong Kong Food, Garlic Seedlings & Wall Art
今期內容計有：重髹發霉的天花、用日式拉麵做葱油拌麵、自製鹹肉、港式雜果沙律。另外，兩週前種下的蒜頭發芽了，還有向你介紹一個專業植物剪刀的牌子，以及用實物裝飾家居牆壁的意念。
In this issue I talk about: a bathroom ceiling that went moldy and got a touch-up, making Spring Onion Oil Noodles with Japanese ramen, homemade Cured Meat, and a Hong Kong-style Mixed Fruit Salad. The garlic I planted two weeks ago has sprouted. And I’ll introduce a professional brand of secateurs, and an idea for home decoration using artefacts.
1. 港式雜果沙律 Hong Kong-style Mixed Fruit Salad
做了港式炸雞髀口味的雞翼，配上港式雜果沙律、紅豆冰（少奶，因不喜歡重奶味）和西多。把照片與人分享，笑說自己今天吃大家樂茶餐！友人對那個雜果沙律特別感興趣，並由此分享了很多相關的少年回憶。
Made some chicken wings with Hong Kong flavour, and I accompanied it by Hong Kong-style Mixed Fruit Salad, Red Bean Iced (with less milk as I don’t like a strong taste of milk) and French Toast. I shared a photo of the meal with my friends, and joked that I was having lunch at Café de Coral (the meal is a typical one served at this local Hong Kong café)! My friends were particularly interested in the Mixed Fruit Salad, and shared with me many related youthful memories.
2. 自製鹹肉 Homemade Cure Pork
自己醃製了鹹肉，用來做了這個鹹肉豆腐菜膽雞煲，鹹肉的味道令湯鍋風味別樹一格。整個湯鍋的材料，都是在本地超市買來的：豬腩肉（用來做鹹肉）、雞、豆腐、小棠菜。
I cured some meat myself to make a Hotpot with Cured Meat, Chicken, Tofu and Vegetable. The cured meat gives the hotpot the unique flavour I desired. All the ingredients for this hotpot were bought in local supermarkets: pork belly (for making the cured meat), chicken, tofu and bok choy.
3. 葱油拌麵 Spring Onion Oil Noodle
很喜歡葱油拌麵這個簡單又美味的食譜，但家裏沒有上海麵怎麼辦？我拿這日式拉麵來代替，很成功。至於拉麵本身包括的那包湯粉，我留下來改天做日本菜的時候用。
I like the simple and delicious recipe of Spring Onion Oil Noodles, but what if there’s no Shanghai noodles at home? I used Japanese ramen as a substitute, and it turned out very successful. I save the soup powder included in the ramen package for other Japanese dishes.
4. 髹天花 Painting Bathroom Ceiling
客人短住我家兩週，洗澡時沒處理好通風，結果廁所天花發霉了！我先用去霉清潔劑清洗，待它全面乾透（期間這個浴室暫停用來洗澡），再髹上一層防霉油。最初有點擔心油漆的顏色跟原來的不一樣，幸好顏色吻合，省卻了我要把整個天花重髹一次的功夫。
A guest staying at my house was ignorant about ventilation during showers. After two weeks of his stay, the bathroom ceiling developed mold! To deal with it, I first cleaned the ceiling with an anti-mold cleaner. Then I let it dry out completely (during this time, showering in this bathroom was temporarily suspended), and then varnished it with a layer of anti-mold paint. Initially, I was worried that the paint colour would not match the original one. Luckily it did, saving me from having to completely re-paint the whole ceiling.
5. 蒜頭出芽了 Garlic Sprouting
兩週前開始種植的蒜頭，今週冒出幼苗來了！我種了兩款，標明早收成那款，果然率先跑出！
The garlic planted two weeks ago has sprouted this week! I planted two varieties, and the one labeled as early harvest did sprout earlier!
6. 名牌剪刀 Premium Brand Secateurs
播朋友向我介紹了Felco這品牌，它們專門出品修剪植物用的剪刀。我買了一把，試用後感覺非常好。它的獨特設計，會卸去壓力，減少手部勞損。雖然價錢比一般剪刀貴一大截，但物有所值。我趁減價買來作為答謝右手的禮物。
A friend introduced me to the world of Felco, a renowned brand specialising in making secateurs for plant pruning. I decided to buy a pair, and the experience was very satisfying. The unique design of the Felco secateurs effectively alleviates pressure thus reduces hand fatigue. Although it’s considerably more expensive than ordinary brands, the investment is justified. I seized the opportunity to acquire this at a discounted price, seeing it as a gift for my right hand.
